Congrats Sissy!

Reason #2 I've neglected my blog: My sister got married!

I can't even begin to express how happy and excited I am for this girl. She is my sister, so naturally, she is one of my favorite people ever. She is so full of life and always willing to help anyone out. Her attitude and smile are infectious. Her new husband is just perfect for her. They are so cute and happy. You can tell just by looking at them how in love and perfect for each other they are.

I'm not going to steal any of her thunder in posting pictures of her wedding, so here are just a couple for now.

The beautiful bride...

...and the happy couple!

Congrats Brit and Andre! We are so happy for you guys! Welcome to the best years of your life! We look forward to many good times to come!

Ragnar!

The next few posts will highlight various reasons why I haven't had time to post regularly as of late.

Reason #1: Ragnar. I have spent a lot of time running - particularly in the final few weeks leading up to the Las Vegas Ragnar. Let me just say though - it was worth every minute!

Here is Van 2 waiting at the first major exchange for our first van to finish. Note: I don't do well when staring into the sun. But we already knew that.

This was actually taken after we finished our second run. Because we were in Van 2, the bulk of our runs took place at night - which happens really early in Vegas. We had to start wearing our night gear at 3:45 pm and it was actually legit! We started our second turn running around 2 or 3 am and didn't finish until about 7. Needless to say, sleep didn't really happen. We reached this sleeping area around 8, stayed until around 11 and were trying to sleep during marching band practice.

This picture was taken right before my final leg. I was part of the lucky half of our van that didn't have wear night gear on all three runs. This was my longest - and definitely the hardest and hilliest leg - at 7.6 miles.

For future reference: don't have your fastest runner be your last. Hunter beat us all to the finish line while we were trying to find parking. We were probably a solid 20 minutes behind him. But, we all got there eventually :)

Here is the after picture in our awesome new schwag. I think I can safely speak for Hunter by saying that neither of us have ever been so tired in our lives. The combination of running 15 miles and sleeping maybe 3 hours will wear you out real quick.

This picture adequately captures our exhaustion.

And the medals. We were all in it for the medals and the stickers for our cars. This was definitely a blast. We had so much fun and will definitely be doing more Ragnars in the future.

Another check off the bucket list. 2012 has been a good year.
