valentine's week

This Valentine's week was a good one! I had a couple days off that I don't normally so Hunter and I almost had a whole week of no work together! Since it was our first official Valentine's together we decided to celebrate accordingly - and with different activities every day.

I had to work on Valentine's Day, so after I got off work we had a fondue party - with yummy chocolate fondue of course!

Tuesday was our bigger celebration day. Hunter surprised me for lunch by taking my to Toaster's which is where we had our first date almost a year ago. It was very cute and nostalgic. Later, we went to dinner at Bennihanna and finished the night off with Yogurtland (the BEST frozen yogurt place that we were over-joyed to find in Utah) and a movie (Just Go With It).

Wednesday started out with a relaxing, much needed, couples massage. Isn't my husband great? After that it was time for Jimmer's first road trip. We went to Parowan to introduce my family to our little puppy and spent a couple days down there.

Our little Jimmer had so much fun! He loved getting almost constant attention from one family member or another but that was nothing compared to how he felt about Inky (the big black lab) or Oreo (the cat that is at least twice his size). Almost immediately he went after Oreo and we had to pull him away so he wouldn't get hurt. He tried to torment the cat through the rest of the visit but for the most part, Oreo was smart and stayed high enough so that Jimmer couldn't bother him. He formed an instant relationship with Inky though. It was so funny to watch them run and prance around the table They played until Inky (who is at least 12 human years old) was too tired to keep going. He absolutely LOVED having another dog around. We heard him bark more in those two days than we had the whole 2 weeks of having him before that.

When we got home, it was back to normal, everyday activities - much to Jimmer's disappointment. But, he has continued to learn things - for example, climbing. He thought it was a good idea to sleep on my head.

On Friday, we gave blood (which happens every 2 months as Red Cross calls us as soon as we are eligible to donate again). Saturday, we both had very active days which didn't bode really well with the blood loss incurred the day before. haha. I went kickboxing and Hunter played frisbee after which we went rock climbing with some good friends of ours. Unfortunately, we forgot to takes pictures. After rock climbing we had dinner and fondue (to finish off the remnants from earlier in the week).

Sunday was Stake Conference - which meant we actually had to set an alarm to get out of bed. It is always a good experience to be able to go to church with my husband. Afterwards, it was nap-time.

All in all, it was a great week off! Life is good in the Paddock home :)
